Glimpses from the Tokyo Film Festival (1)

No bitching, no whining, no spitting, no complaining. Just love. Pure love.

That was the manner in which director Smarzowski ("Wesele") approached the subject of Poland on the press conference during the Tokyo International Film festival.

When the reporter who was born in 1982, asked about the current situation in Poland, Director Smarzowski answered, “The order has returned to the country or it has returned to normal. I think that the Poland is becoming a good country."

Of all the valuable lessons we can learn from director Smarzowski, this one seems the most significant. We live in a country that is becoming good. Let us embrace this definition. Let us cherish it.

I can already see those promotion banners, those tourist pamphlets. Forget the polish plumber, forget the sexy nurse. It's time for new catchphrases.

Like "POLAND. A COUNTRY BECOMING GOOD."
