Academic Street Cred

Writing reviews is easier than writing books.
Bearing that in mind, I read this:

And wrote a piece that perhaps won't make Roland happy, but I warned him beforehand and assured him I actually love both him and the book.

Saying that, here's my first one.

From tomorrow - the year in review. A series of installments with short-term nostalgia and loads of popcultural whining. Do come.

Dziadzius Hitler

Program telewizyjny z dziewczynkami z zespolu Cute.

TV Tokyo juz przeprosilo, chociaz slabo.

I’m sorry but thats ridiculous that people would be offended by Saki talking about Aldolf Hitler. I mean, yeah, he was an incredibly sick man, but the Nazi’s were never mentioned, it was just some random facts. And Hitler was a good speaker.

---

I agree. Tough I understand why people take offense, I’m sure the girls didn’t have any intention to offend anyone. I hope this doesn’t damage °C-ute’s reputation.

motto ii eiga wo misero

Watching SatoEri in lingerie is always good; having to watch through 90 minutes of a mediocre Japanese movie is never.

"Funuke domo, kanashimi no ai o misero" has some good spots, the casting is great (see Nagasaku Hiromi in an unusual role of a clueless, comically battered wife), but is overall more boring than not. The ending was predictable around 40 minutes into the film, so predictable and obvious in fact, that I spent the remaining time ensuring myself I will be swerved in the end.

But I wasn't.

Well, watch for half-naked Sato and brilliant Nagasaku. Or don't.
